Soft Peaks Ice Cream on Urbanspoon

Food: 4.5
Price: Fair +

I actually heard and seen pictures of Soft Peaks before they even opened in Vancouver. At the time I was wishing we had one here base on my friend's review, plus it looked so darn good. I was planning to go later during the month, but luckily I received an invitation email to try just shortly after their soft opening. So I 'conqueror' all odds (found someone to watch the baby, I deserve a day to myself) and marched myself down there for a tasting.

- located in Gastown
- appear spacious due to the high ceiling, they also have upstairs dining area
- simple and modern d├ęcor with lots of natural light
HONEYCOMB PEAK  $6.75
- rich and creamy soft serve without being overly sweet (made from local Avalon organic milk)
- honeycomb has a slight crunch, and the honey inside is more solidify due to the coldness from the soft serve.
- interesting but I won't order again due to the intense sweetness.
SUNRISE IN CALIFORNIA  $6.50
- once again, the soft serve was excellent
- the yuzu marmalade complement it well with it citrus sweet and sour taste
- there were quite a bit of peel taste (slightly bitter), which I don't mind, but if you are not use to it then I would suggest getting something else.

There is no doubt about it, I will be back for more. I think I may just order the soft serve by itself, because that's what I loved the most. I know some people say the price is a little high, but honestly I would rather pay for quality at higher price than settle for mediocre and moderate price, but maybe that's just me.
