EXIT - time to get off your butt to play a 'REAL' game!

Exit

Unit 2115, 4653 Garden City Road, Richmond

If I told you I just paid strangers to lock me a small dark room for 45 minutes, you must think I am crazy. For someone who doesn't like the dark and absolutely hate horror movies, I totally enjoyed this experience. Imagine the twisted games in the movie Saw, where 'contestant' where locked up in a room and challenge to escape within a certain time frame, well that's is exactly what the game Exit is all about, except for sawing off your leg part. :P

Chef's Kebab Restaurant on Urbanspoon

I recently went to a blogger dinner organized by a company called Lazymeal. They are a local company that make ordering from delivery restuarants a breeze. To make the ordering process easier for everyone, they insist on taking their own photos of the actual food. Also they have extended invites to bloggers such as myself to actually taste the food and share our opinion about them.

Catch 122 Cafe Bistro on Urbanspoon

Food: 2.5

Brunch is our favorite meal of the day, because it typically means it's the weekend. Plus, you can eat whatever you want without feeling guilty, as you still have the whole day to work it off.  Catch 122, known for it's brunch menu, has always been on my radar, but we just never got around to trying it. So when the oppertunity strikes, I called up a couple of friends, and off we went.

Guilford Town Center - Surrey's Metrotown

Normally I wouldn't blog about a mall, but this one is special, because I think it is now as good as PC or Metro, but it's in Surrey.  The 213,500-sqare-foot, $280 million dollar expansion of Guilford Town Center has truly impressed me. It has official re-opened its doors over the Labour Day long weekend. I have to say, ever since moving to Surrey, I have seen many changes that I like. Keep up the good work Diane Watts (Surrey mayor)!
The grant main entrance with floor to ceiling glass panels.

There are just so many tempting online deals, but it's time to cut back on the coupons I purchase. Not only it's actually costing a lot of money, but mainly because I forget to use them or it become a mad dash to use them at the last minute. Anyways, I had to use  a SocialShopper voucher for Waffle & Berries ($13 for 2 Belgian waffles with 3 toppings each + 2 drinks) that was about to expire.

I have been a fan of Cafe Regalade ever since I tried their brunch menu over a year ago. They had this delicious seafood egg reduction stew that was just fantastic. Sadly it seem they no longer offer it. A friend of ours tried their dinner menu and highly recommended the mussel. In fact A said it was the best mussel she ever had. With a recommendation like that, I just had to try it, plus there was this Groupon deal of $15 for $30 worth of food.

Tickets Bar - mark it down if you are heading to Barcelona

Tickets Bar

Av Parallel 164, Barcelona, Spain

Food: 4.5
Service: 4.5
Price: Fair

I sat idling in front of the computer waiting for 4pm to strike. Why you ask? Well, you see getting a reservation at the famous Tickets Bar is like trying to score front row seats at a Justin Bieber concert. The reservations are open 60 days in advance at precisely 12am Barcelona time, which at the moment is 4pm PST. I got sidetracked at the last moment, and was 10 minute late, low and behold all dinner reservations for 2 or more were gone. Lucky for me, they opened for lunch on Saturdays, so I managed to snag one of the last few reservations at 3pm.
Why is this restaurant so famous?

Sorry for the lack of post, I was away on vacation and trying to play catch up at work. I had a great time, and did not want to come back, so expect some exciting post about traveling/food soon.

My quest to find good burger joint is still on, so when Groupon had a deal of $15 for $30 worth of food at Romer Burger, I just couldn't resist. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was semi-packed, with most people opting for a patio seat despite having just average weather. I guess any day without rain in Vancouver is considered a good day.

When a deal popped up on Groupon featuring a bistro restaurant that served up fresh local food, I was intrigued. What really reeled me in was the location: Surrey. I mean it's not everyday you find this type of restaurant that serves up French cuisine with local ingredients. The deal was certainly hot, because by the time I purchased it, they already ran out of dinner for 2, and only had dinner for 4 ($39 for $80 worth of food). That's not a problem at all, as I have some friends (A+K) who love to eat as much as I do.
