The last time I was at Kimura, I noticed a Malaysian Restaurant called Penang Delight. Since I love Malaysian food, I immediately add it to the list of restaurant to try.

This moderate sized restaurant was very cute and nicely decorated. I especially liked the fake coconut tree at the front of the restaurant. We were promptly greeted by the door and brought to our seat. We were there at about 11:30, and the place was packed by 12.
The first appetizer we got was the Crispy Pork for only $5.95. For the price we paid, this was a huge portion, because there was at least 2 large piece of pork cutlet cut up into strips. The pork was also very good, as it was tender and already flavored. The sweet chili dip had the typical South East Asian flavor.
Of course, roti canai is a must. Here at Penang Delight, each order consist of 2 roti and cost $5.95. Since we had 4 people, I automatically ordered 2 sets. The picture really doesn't do it's justice, these were huge. Each order was cut into 4 pieces, so it was more than enough for 4 people. Needless to say, we had lots of roti to go around. The roti itself was pretty good, but not flaky/buttery enough. The curry deep was sweet and savory, quite good in my opinion.

Next up was theNasi Nenas, which was essentially a pineapple fried rice ($7.95). The rice was harder than I would have liked with distinct turmeric flavor. Since I dislike pineapple, I am bias, and was not fan of this dish.
I chose this Clay pot fish dish for $13.95. The deep fried fish fillet was left simmering ina coconut curry broth. The fish was tender and flavorful, but the vegetables could use a bit more simmering, as it didn't fully absorb the flavor of the broth.
Last but not least, we had to get this dish : chicken rendang ($9.95). Typically you would only see beef rendang available, which is rather sad because R does not eat beef. So I was very happy to see this dish. R loved it for its slight spiciness coming from the chili and the detectable lemon grass flavor. Also the chicken was very tender.

Service here was great as well. From the moment we walked in, the owner (who I am assume it was) was friendly and genuine. He checked on us often and often chatted with us as well. Our water glass was never left empty. Overall, we all liked Penang Delight and we would definitely recommended to anyone looking for some authentic Malaysian food.
