In-N-Out - good for the price

 In-N-Out Burgers

In-n-Out Burgers on Urbanspoon

Food: 3.5
Price: Cheap

My life is a little hectic at the moment, and will probably stay this way for at least a few more month. So I will start a new style of blogging keeping it simple and short. The pictures for future post will probably remain raw imagine without cropping or watermark.
I have tried Five Guys Burger and many people suggested I try In-N-Out.
Finally that chance came when I was in LA last month. In-N-Out is a fast food chain restaurant that started in California and only available in a few States.

Their menu was simple enough: beef burger, fries, and drinks (pop, milk shakes and coffee). Prices are quite cheap considering a regular meal is under $5. Although I think Dick's is still cheaper though.

I got the cheeseburger meal for $4.85.
Patty: was rather thin and a not juicy bit dry, but the tomato spread, and cheese made up for it.
Bun: Soft and toasted, so that it doesn't get soggy to fast
Fries: Crispy and lightly salted

Overall, a good burger, but not that special. However for the price ($2.15 for the burger), it was well worth it. The food here is good, but nothing really warrant a special visit. With that being said, if you are already down there, then give it a try.

  1. I will have to assume that it was just an off day for them. I have been to In-N-Out several times and IMHO, it is the best fast food burger. Now I don't consider them in the same category as places like Five Guys, Fudruckers, and places like this that are more of sit down diner serving burgers. I consider In-N-Out to be in the category of a McD's, Burger King, Hardees, Checkers/Rallies, etc...

What I and most people who do appreciate is that the food is simply good. An ordinary burger done right. When I explain it to friends that never tried, I tell them to imagine going to a backyard BBQ and having the best burger you've had. That's what it seems like to me each time I have one.

One reason I think they beat out the others, IMHO is that when I have gone there, the burger is fresh cooked. No flashing them in the microwaves to make sure it is hot. It IS hot because it comes straight off the grill after you order it. That has been my experience.

  2. $4.85 for a meal is really cheap. And that burger looks pretty big, too.
I've been to Five Guys and I didn't find it too crazily great... but would you recommend this over Five Guys?
