I hope you enjoyed that short summary of my trip, more details coming soon. Before I continue to the souvenir which I brought back, I would just like to say thank you to my readers, and because of you, I feel a sense of accomplishment. I hope you will continue to enjoy what I have to share and any feedback is always appreciated.
Anyways, I really did buy some cool/unique souvenir for you guys. Have you ever heard of miracle fruit? If you haven't, you are not alone, because I haven't either until about 3 weeks ago. It's a little berry originated in Africa that changes the way you taste. A protein in the berry interacts with our taste buds and change the way we perceive the flavor of food containing acid. Here is a article from NYtimes that talks about it. (geeze, it's from 2 years ago, where have I been).
The tablet I bought is the concentrated version, where each tablet contain the extract of 2 berries. Of course, after purchasing this at the Flora Expo in Taiwan, we immediately wanted to try it out. One of my friend has volunteered to be film for his experience, so take a look.

I would love to try stinky tofu. It's so hard to find in Vancouver. I found a place in LA that had it, well my nose brought me to the restaurant. ;)
Hi Jenny, my favorite food is pork belly so I like the pork belly marinated in soya sauce that you had there in the Taiwan food album. I hope I win the prize.
Hey Jenny,
that miracle fruit looks so cool! I want to try the lime so badly now! Going through your pictures, makes me miss TW food even more now. I'm from TW and didn't have the chance to go back this break. All I want right now is some good ol' dirty street food! The railway bento box in your pic and all the "lu rou fan" brings back memories =)
Hey Jenny,
I've been a mostly silent reader, but I love your blog! Your entries are always interesting and your food pictures make me drool. Going through your pictures I'd definitely be most excited to try the shaved ice with those little creme caramel pudding jello things on top. (not the best description but thats what it looks like to me and it looks amazing!!!!!)
Great giveaway, and I am totally intrigued by that miracle fruit tablet. If I ever go to Taiwan, the first thing I want to try would be the oyster omelet, it looks great!
I hope I win!
oh totally wanna try green onion puff!! >_<
looks like a great street food :)
I'd really like to try the soup bun! I've never even heard of it before, so it'd be cool to try it once I go to TW this spring break!
<3 the Tiramasu...I would love to eat that!
I would love to try the pork blood rice cake. I've never seen anything like that before (even though it reminds me of an ice cream bar...) Hope it tasted better than it sounds!
i wanna try that miracle fruit so much now lol!!!!
